Modern Icon Rigid Dog Collar
Modern Icon dog collars come, in Coyote Brown, Black and Od green
“The main body of the Operator 1 1/2″ Rigid Collar is mil-spec Heavy Scuba Webbing. On top of the first layer, has been sewn 1 1/2″ mil-spec Webbing rated at 1,000 lbs. As well as 1″ mil-spec webbing rated at 4,000 lbs. This is to stiffen the design and add the additional strength and support required by our most demanding customers”.
With all the same properties as 2″ wide rigid collar. This collar has been reduced in width to 1 1/2″ for those who have less space on their dogs necks. Due to the addition of other collars and training aids. The rigid design of the collar lends itself to use as an agitation collar and for general training.
Made With an ICS Klick-Lock Buckle creates a redundant fail safe. This means both side buttons have to be depressed to release the buckle. To further prevent the system failing or unintentionally opening the buttons are recessed which prevents accidental unclipping.
Tactical and Everyday
This tactical collar is also suitable for wear and use on a daily basis giving the dog comfort and reliability with great style. It can also be used as an everyday collar on any breed of dog. Trust me the dog will never need another collar. Built to stand the test of time.
Saber has owned this collar for a couple of months now and I have to say it is everything it is said to be.
The collar is very very well made and looks good on Saber. The velcro strips are excellent for attaching velcro badges or small harness patches. Such as the blue training patches I put onto Saber’s collar.
The vendor was Kit4Dogs
I have to say that, when I contacted Kit4Dogs they were very helpful and a pleasure to do business with.
I had a slight problem with Saber’s Modern Icon dog collar and contacted Kit4Dogs about it. They told me to contact Modern Icon direct. I must admit my initial thoughts were “here we go”. I was proved wrong even though I am in the UK. Modern Icon answered my emails quickly and efficiently and are even replacing the collar at no cost to me.
Modern Icon’s customer service was impressive and I am still impressed with their handmade dog collars. Although not so impressed with Kit4Dogs. I feel they should have handled the warranty on the collar as my contract was with them.
The replacement collar has arrived and due to Modern Icon’s diligent work on the customs status no costs were incurred. The collar I opted for was this one
This collar has a soft clip in for the leash attachment and has no chance of rusting. The soft clip is tested to 600 Lbs pull so is extremely strong.
Thanks to Modern Icon.
All the items I have reviewed are purchased by me and I have no affiliation with any of the manufacturers or sellers
The foundation of the Operator 2″ Rigid Collar is mil-spec Heavy Scuba Webbing. Atop this first layer, we have sewn 1 3/4″ mil-spec Webbing rated at 7,000 lbs as well as 1″ mil-spec webbing rate at 4,000 lbs to stiffen the design and add the additional strength and support required by our most demanding customers. This rigid design allows the handler to use the body of the collar to apply pressure to the points behind the ears to manually “out” their dog from a bite if he becomes unresponsive to your commands.
We use a 1″ ISC Klick-Lock buckle rated to 2,600 lbs in our otherwise 2″ wide design to provide an added measure of security preventing accidental un-clipping when the collar is grabbed at the buckle, yet still allows the collar to be quickly un-clipped in an emergency. A large Velcro panel gives you plenty of space to affix identifier patches or accessories. 3 available clip in point options fit any commercial lead attachment, including large diameter climbing carabiners:
1″ Steel V-Ring: Low profile option rated to 4,000 lbs.
2″ Steel V-Ring: Largest clip in option rated to 6,000 lbs
Soft Clip In: Inspired by clip in points found on climbing harnesses, it offers a silent solution that works with all existing clip in options.”
